live update doesn't connect to the liveupdate.symantecliveupdate.com

when I run live update it says that it cannot connect to the liveupdate server

what can I do ??

Check the liveupdate setting in the control panel. You should use the settings from IE.

even iam facing the same problem iam not able to connect to live update on symmantc
why is this happening my virus def are updated

Make sure you have the latest version of liveupdate or re-install: http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/sharedtech.nsf/docid/1999051911110813?OpenDocument&seg=en

Try opening up a command prompt and pinging liveupdate (ping liveupdate.symantec.com) and make sure you are even able to connect to the server.
